Biographies The beginnings of the Southern Gospel Duet known as 2 For 1 could only have been done through the work of the Lord Himself. Eddie Henderson and Steve Quinn had sang together in the early 1990's with the Freedom Quartet, (A link to the only photos that can be found of Eddie and Steve sharing the stage with the group can be located to the left of this page). In the fall of 2001 the two men would come together again at Eddie's home church to perform a few of the old quartet songs, nearly ten years removed. From that night forward the two men knew exactly what the Lord was doing. He was working another one of His Miracles. Since that Sunday Night in October of 2001 the group has been a part of and seen so many of the Lord's Works that they can only be called Miracles. Eddie says, "I don't know what He has done for you, but I can attest to the fact of all the things He has done for me and my family." You see during 2009 and 2010 Eddie struggled through a knee replacement, two heart attacks, two stints, and a surgery that installed a defibrillator into his chest. Recently during 2011 there have been so many compliments on how much healthier Eddie appears to be. This is nothing short of a Miracle or should we say many Miracles. Steve on the other hand has also had his share of trials and troubles. Steve's troubles though are not health related, but financially related. During 2010 Steve lost his job, a career he had been a part of for over 25 years. During the latter half of 2010 and the first half of 2011, Steve was out of work seven out of twelve months, had three different jobs, and nearly lost everything he had. During a Lakeland's SGMA Homecoming Service in Abbeville, South Carolina in April of 2011, Steve had let it get the best of him long enough. Steve says, "I went down to the altar that night and cried out to God, I CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE, you are going to have to do it." Do it He did, Steve has since been hired at a fulltime job, he and his family's finances are on the up swing, and they didn't lose a thing. There are many other things this group can testify too, such as when their sound equipment was stolen and how the Lord healed that need and many, many more. The devil has tried his best to derail this ministry, but their smooth harmony and dynamic touch of the Lord during Worship is truly a Spiritual Blessing. With the Lord's Guidance, 2 For 1 is "Renewed", and is stronger and better than ever.
